Just replyed to a dodgy sounding ad in our local paper, they are after healthy men aged between 25 and 35 for what they call 'Muscle Study' cash paid for your inconvenience.

Got a reply..........
It's a nine week study......3 of which you will have your leg (you can choose which one) in plaster and your'll be paid £400 for your trouble

Now until they said leg, and hence no driving for 3 weeks I was almost tempted, being a bit skint and at a loose end at the moment So would anyone else have done it, or how low would you stoop for some easy ££££'s

Nine weeks actually!

It will take you a while to get functionality back in your leg after a period of immobilistaion like that

I'd like to know how far up the leg they'd want to plaster. Above the knee is a royal pain to live with.

On the bright side it's winter so it shouldn't get too smelly, you won't get a dodgy tan and you probably won't want to be outside a great deal anyway. They've just brought out GTA San Andreas.

It will take a bit of effort to get your leg back to full function, but it shouldn't be too bad.

If it's not too personal a question, are you claiming benefit? If so will being paid/in plaster affect it?

Didn't bother with any further questions as I ruled it out at that point

Had a letter today telling me they were going to put my Jobseekers on hold because I walked out from my last job, but I've got a meeting with them on Wednesday to discuss the finer points, ie my exbosses illegal trading practices, to get them to re-instate my 'government funded wages'

So why not go for the study, get your leg in plaster, and then go to the DSS for incapacity benefit?

A man after my own heart
Knowing my luck at the moment I'd get one leg done for the test, then trip up on the way home and break the other leg

Jesus

400 pound is 7-800 dollars i think, so yeah I'd do it. At the very least it would be a nice sympathy card. Imagine the sort of stories you could tell down at the pub!

Well, that's no more than three weeks of running away from being back in shape.

Or lightweight, below the knee cast and use your toes carefully....

It's really not enough cash, I'd be wanting £2k to do that!

I've spent 10 weeks with my leg in plaster before and there were permanent effects of that years after (loss of spring in ankle) so no chance!
