First weekends work on S2
Discussion
Now that I have finally gotten my S2 and freed up some garage space (chucked out wifes 4x4), and have been busy ordering various parts for it, need some advice!
Am planning to change the air filter (new Pipercross) fit oil filler air filter, new TP and wiring loom (am not even going to go into the Cerb or Ford argument!), fit new Power boost Valve, HT leads and change fuel filter. That should keep me busy for at least saturday morning! Any tips on these jobs? Things I should know? Is it OK to clamp the pressurised fuel line before the filter when changing? When fitting these new items do I need to re-start the ECU? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
PS Searching the past forums has provided some great advice from all your murky pasts. Thanks

First bit of advice - reassess how long you think it will take.
You can bet that the last nut on every job will take 3 times as long as the first one did
, and you'll find lots of things that need to be done as you are fiddling with those things.
Seriously when you change the Pipercross filter, your old one there should be a pipe running from the oil filler cap down to the filter and then in through the side via a metal connector. The new one won't have one the connector so you either need to take the old one off, cut a hole in the side and fit it on. Or discard the pipe entirely and fit an oil breather filter directly on the side of the oil filter cap. Pipercross do one that fits straight on and it's stocked by Halfwits.
Don't know on the fuel line, It would say probably not it's quite high pressure and you may end up damaging the pipe if you have to clamp it to hard.
You shouldn't have to do anything with the ECU but as you'll be disconnecting the battery (won't you?) the ECU will reset anyway.
Good luck

Interested on how you get on with the power boost valve
I'm fitting one soon but Mike at Horizon Motorsport
was on about setting the pressure properly, whereas everybody posted seems to have turned it up till it hunted and then turned it back a bit.
It's not a difficult job to fit I understand but the question is if the old one is .3bar, what is the best pressure to improve output without wasting fuel.

...and this weekend?
Finish last weekends work!
Had some issues fitting the new boost valve, as issue of vertical and horizontal bolts came up - Alternative kit for horizontal bolts turns out to be a remote mounted kit - which I have to say is dead easy to fit. Have followed instructions on adjustments, but yet to take for a run, as it snowed last weekend!
Also took the opportinity to flush radiator and cooling system, as well as bleeding clutch. Hoping for some reasonable weather to complete some scientific testing of new parts (ie floor it and see what happens!) Will let you know. Thanks for all the help
