I'd be really surprised if you couldn't fit them yourself.

Most speaker manufacturers do OEM fit speakers to fit behind standard grills, try these. No cutting or wiring changes. Does depend on where speakers are and how they are secured, but usually easy.

If that doesn't do it, some people have had brilliant results with the active subwoofers available now. Tucked away in the boot or under a front seat? A bit more installation required

I changed them in mine. Improvement is pretty good, it's still not amazing but it's much much better than the original "speakers".

I spent about £300 on JL Audio stuff and fitted them myself.

Just be careful they dont try and flog you component speakers - just go co-ax and you can pick up a decent set for £50 a pair. The alternative is an amplifier that can be driven off speaker terminals from the stock headunit.

This is what I did with my Civic Type R as I wanted to keep it looking standard. Cost about £300 in total with a friendly local car audio place

I wouldn't get alpine, get something cheaper but still a decent brand and fit them yourself. jvc, pioneer, Phillips or sony all do cheap speakers that will direct replace. Like http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/sony-xs-gt1328f

Check the size before you order though I've no idea what size the oem speakers in a picanto are.

I'd Change the door speakers first, see if it is the speakers or if its the head unit.
