Caterham showroom open day.
Discussion
I see the above is happening. I can't make this one, but I popped down to the last hurrah at the Caterham showroom. Was my first visit to the premises, seemed like a good time to visit!
Anyhow, just in case not everyone got the email;

Surely 9am is a bit early to start, admitted I'm not much of a morning person but wouldn't it have been better to start the show at say 11am and finish at, say, 3pm or 'something'. I would be surprised if they get many guests turning up at 9 am, I for instance am on the South Coast so would need to leave at about 6 30am to arrive at 9am still, it is a bank holiday so perhaps they want to get away early, which is understandable. I only say all this because I would like to see the day a success for Caterham but I don't think 9 am is the best start time, but I'm ready to be corrected! I'll be there the next day though for car attention at a more sensible time, for me at least ?

Lots of cars there both privately owned who took part in organised blats there to a good selection of cars for sale and on show. New premises is impressive. The hour queue for a bacon role was not impressive and then you had to do the same for a coffee. Not joined up thinkng. I didnt hear Mike Gascoinge do his thing ( didnt want to lose place in queue !) but apparently it was a potted history of his employment. F1 cars were interesting to look at and was interesting to see the amount of engineering into the smallest of parts - no wonder they cost a fortune. Not sure what they were doing there though as surely they belong to the liquidator or something ( never did get my head round the whole affair ).
Weather was great which was a bonus. I think there are some photos over on Blatchat
