I see the above is happening. I can't make this one, but I popped down to the last hurrah at the Caterham showroom. Was my first visit to the premises, seemed like a good time to visit!

Anyhow, just in case not everyone got the email;

"Come along and get involved

After months of planning and preparation, we are delighted to announce the opening of our new flagship showroom in Crawley and we'd like to invite you along to be part of it. The doors open at 9am on Monday 6th April (Easter Monday) and we have a host of activities for you and the whole family to enjoy including:

• Ex-Formula 1 guest speaker
• Our new 2015 model range
• Caterham pit stop wheel change challenge
• Caterham Seven spare parts sale, arrive for 9am to avoid missing out
• Engineering Q & A session
• PopBang colour artist Ian Cook

We are also offering a free Caterham 7 spring check, spaces are limited so if you'd like to take advantage of this offer then call our Aftersales team today on 01293 312300.

But no Easter event would be the same without an egg hunt! So you can send the kids off whilst you tuck into a complimentary British breakfast butty, the perfect bite to start the day. We really have got something for the whole family so be sure to bring the youngsters too.

Come along and be part of this next step in our history.

Date: Monday 6th April

Time: 9am until 1pm

Location: Caterham House - Dialog, Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9NQ

We look forward to seeing you there"

I notice they were explicit there. No unsold lots from the auction then....

Surely 9am is a bit early to start, admitted I'm not much of a morning person but wouldn't it have been better to start the show at say 11am and finish at, say, 3pm or 'something'. I would be surprised if they get many guests turning up at 9 am, I for instance am on the South Coast so would need to leave at about 6 30am to arrive at 9am still, it is a bank holiday so perhaps they want to get away early, which is understandable. I only say all this because I would like to see the day a success for Caterham but I don't think 9 am is the best start time, but I'm ready to be corrected! I'll be there the next day though for car attention at a more sensible time, for me at least ?

Apparently they had 580 people turn up, and plenty at 9am, I stand corrected..

Lots of cars there both privately owned who took part in organised blats there to a good selection of cars for sale and on show. New premises is impressive. The hour queue for a bacon role was not impressive and then you had to do the same for a coffee. Not joined up thinkng. I didnt hear Mike Gascoinge do his thing ( didnt want to lose place in queue !) but apparently it was a potted history of his employment. F1 cars were interesting to look at and was interesting to see the amount of engineering into the smallest of parts - no wonder they cost a fortune. Not sure what they were doing there though as surely they belong to the liquidator or something ( never did get my head round the whole affair ).
Weather was great which was a bonus. I think there are some photos over on Blatchat
