brand new porsche - have I missed something?
Discussion
a colleague at work was asking me today about the brand new porsche model due for release next year, which he had been reading about in this week's autocar. Oh, says I, you must mean the new boxster coupe. No says he, a new model, not the boxster, based on the 944/968 concept, front engine rear wheel drive 2+2. Bol***ks says I, thou art taking the p***. No he says, its due out next year, about £50K and autocar have snaps of walter rohl test driving it. Who is on acid, him or me?
i am told that autocar are reporting a test version of the new boxster which autocar are describing as a clubsport version - i.e stripped out. i havent read the article myself so any PHers who have, please correct me if needed. according to my colleague, this is a real car, undergoing real testing. they arent reporting that porsche hae confirmed this will be a production model yet. however, since the boxster is now pretty well fully developed, there cant be many reasons for stripping one out again other than to see if its sufficiently different to produce as a CS version

He should have read the article more carefully. The new car is basically a Boxster Coupe, but with more power than a Boxster and a higher price tag. This car has already been discussed on other threads. And the engine is behind the driver.
