I guess I may have grown up - any advice?
Discussion
Well, I think I am grown up....67 !
On my third, currently a new 2.7 Cayman. Advice from a more "mature owner" DO IT !!!I do not want to go down thinking I wish I had owned etc. You never know what is around the corner!
Now, thinking about that girl called Linda at college..... no that is another story!

I've had my 987 Boxster 3.4 S for a couple of months now, p/x'd my VX220 turbo, and wonder why I didn't do it years ago, great cars, but really, you need a folding roof.
Have to agree, having an open top adds immeasurably to pleasure of driving one of these superb cars. The 987 is perfectly civilised with the roof up so don't see why you'd choose a Cayman over a Boxster. Wollemi said:

Personally, having had my roof slashed and radio nicked, I'd always prefer a hard roof. (Had my tax disc nicked twice as well - though that's no longer an issue). That said the Boxster is by common consent very civilised with the roof up, and doesn't lose much on handling to the Cayman. It all depends on whether open air motoring floats your particular boat - and perhaps where you are likely to leave your car.TubbyNorman said:

Yes; don't grow up, and buy one anyway. Sports cars aren't for grown-ups. People carriers are for grown-ups.I always said I'd get a Porsche when I finally grew up.

Oh come on a Porsche is a "sensible" "grown-up" sportscar. It has all sorts of unnecessary fripperies - like a heater, radio, even a decent boot! You don't even need to be a gymnast to get in or out. I didn't grow up enough to feel the need for 4 wheels and a roof for my DD until I was well into middle age. Perhaps I'm a late developer. I had to admire a couple in their late sixties or early seventies whom I met doing a continental tour in a Caterham. Now that's what NOT growing up is really (and should be) like.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
