Standard Ro VXR brakes + EBC yellow stuffs & braided lines

Quick thank you to all who have suggested this combination, the difference is night and day over how the old girl pulls up.

Massive difference, and a lot cheaper than going down the AP route for normal day to day driving.

Can I please ask; what braided lines did you get? Some folk have suggested Russell, but I can't see them for sale in the UK? Meanwhile on the Monkfish site braided lines for standard VXR brakes are quoted at £269 which seems a lot (there may be a good reason for this). Did you fit the lines yourself, and if so how easy was that?
I would like a bit more firmness in my car's brakes (Monaro VXR, standard discs, Performance friction pads)but think AP's would be OTT for normal road use.

Your could always measure up the flexi lines, take a picture of the couplings, and send the details through to one of the manufacturers. They can then match the info to a current kit, or probably make you a kit up.

I used HEL lines for my set up.. 50 quid for the front pair . stainless and coated . delivered in 5 days .

I also went for the Hel kit £120.00 for the full set of 6 hoses , not fitted yet as bin too cold

Yep Hel kit here too, around £120 delivered took couple of days to arrive.

Pedal feel is better, got a local garage to fit new pads all round and the lines, couple of hours labour.

Mmmmmm might go for the yellow pads too when I fit the hoses if they make that much difference

Hey Dan where did you source the pads of the yellow stuff, and what they cost?

Got them direct off ebc's website, around £170 for both front and rear. Just select 6.0 VXR Monaro from the list and they come up. Part numbers are in the FAQ section of this forum too. The fonts are 1999 Corvette labeled, rear is Pontiac gto - just in case you get worried when they turn up!

It should't make a difference. The line lengths are the same, and they usually have standard fittings.

Look at the picture above, and compare it to your flexi-lines.

Try AAS in Newcastle for the yellow stuff pads. I used this company. Excellent service. The pads on Vxr discs or on DBA discs were excellent on road or track.

These are what I use, done Alpine runs with this set up, no problems when really hot.
