Any advice on a LHD 68 912 gratefully received . Love the idea of it , and it looks fantastic .

Other than that I'm a complete classic novice .......

Would appreciate a PM if anyone on hear has recently sold a Grey 912 .

What are they worth, are they a safe bet , or a nightmare .

...if it's a whim then potentially a financially ruinous exercise ? Otherwise follow your dreams !

A friend had one, a lot of fun, four cylinder engine is lighter so better balanced than a 911 of that era.
Were going up in value...
But, difficult to get engine parts, so some bits had to be built to order
Generally cheap and easy to own or run...

Just remember. Most parts of a 912 are the same as those of a contemporary 911. But a restored 912 will never be worth the same as a restored 911 BUT it will cost the same to restore as a contemporary 911.

So buy with your head and don't buy without getting it up on a ramp. Ideally you'd be looking for a PPI on it by someone who knows their pre-impacts well. I rate Peter Morgan for pre-impacts; he's been around them for a very long time!

I know of one that exists in the North-East. It's immaculate and looks sensational in non-metallic dark grey. Apparently the owner restored it to match a long-hood 911 he owns.

However, it used to be Irish Green, which makes me very sad to hear it's been changed!

That's the car . How do you value such a car . The spread of condition is huge.

I know what my opinion on it's value is ... and I'm confident it tallies with that of the friendly local specialist?

Is it your car? Or are you looking to buy it?

Can't be bad if an official Porsche Centre is selling it.
