Cleaning exhaust tips...

What do people use on the tips of a 997.2 GT3? They look anodised?

With stainless tips I would use fine wire wool and/or metal polish. But I think that would damage the finish on these.

Yeah, mine looked poor so I swapped out for the sharkwerks tips which have faired much better.

I think we'll just have to get them painted, but let me know if you find a solution.

I did get a quote on ceramic coating which came back at £175.

I'll try some polish first.

Not a GT3 or black tips, but I just spent 15mins polishing this crud off with Autosol (it was hard work!) and I think you'd best go easy on black tips, just in case the coating wears through?

Loop a sock over the exhaust and work the Solvol like a boot boy, the tips will come clean in moments

That's looking good.

I'll try a bodywork polish first. Something which isn't abrasive.

I kept my last clay bar and just use it for the exhaust tips - gets the worst off in 2 mins
