CLOTHES and matters relating?
We have the "Show us your new shoes thread" and questions often arise about where to buy something in particular or what to wear to a wedding or function.
Clothes are a pretty significant thing to most people and I think deserve their own section on PH.
What do others think?

Surely relationships are more frequent a subject than clothes?
If we had a separate sub forum we could proclaim ourselves the new Mumsnet and get consulted by the prime minister, and advise the Houses of Parliament, and s
t like that. Probably. ( or do you have to be a mother to do that

Some validity to a relationship/family matters subforum as those subjects dont really need all the usual jokers poking their nose in. Whilst there will be cries of "what is this Mumsnet??", the fact is many of us are actually Dads and husbands and not ashamed of that fact.

Personally I think it's a good idea I'd happily join in on show us your bow tie or what chino colours are acceptable. But I think it shouldn't also encompass the grooming side of things as we have a beard thread and shaving thread that would be well placed with the clothing threads.

It needn't be about buying exclusive brands. It could be used to highlight a bargain to all or perhaps new trends.
You could post if you got a nice new suit or ask what to wear to an event.

But you can associate that to any thread, although if it's in its own sub forum your more likely to weed the knobs out and just get people offering helpful advice. For instance I need to purchase black tie this year, would be great to have input from others on here. I've looked at a few "style forums" and their layouts are pretty dated and I'd much prefer to spend my time on the one site which is Ph

Seriously now, PH really isnt the place to come for guidance on sartorial elegance!!
A bunch of oily tory divorcees who think metal maketh the man and a holiday is paying to follow a load of other men around the Alps - hardly a cultural oasis!! (Even if I love it's retentive charms).
A clothing forum will be full of people opining on how they "only wear 501s", (oh dear) and "just found some super rare Gazelles" on "the bay"...
If you need black tie you can get inspiration from pinterest and tumblr and some decent advice from a credible shop floor.
