Urgent help needed and appreciated

It seems the buttons that undo the doors on the mirrors have decided they don't want to work anymore, I am in the car but can't seem to find what the issue is, no fuses in the bible are marked for door opening etc? Is it a relay if so which one as this isn't marked either or is it the solenoid? Or solinoids as neither door is working.

Just seen that the green light is on the door release know but it won't turn off, any idea if this can be disable so I can use the car until I can get it fixed?

Tried locking and unlocking again with the key fob, the green light button is the interior lock, light on when activated? Alternatively, close the doors whilst in and use the twist knob to reopen, that should override the lock.

I've locked myself out more than once by inadvertently nudging the green button on getting out the car...

Snap. I just won't touch that button any more. It's more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks for the rapid response,The green light seems to be stuck on as far as I can tell, I have the arm rest off and the control know off, if I undo the vet lip will this release the button from the shaft? Is there a way to bypass it so I can take it to an autorlectrician?

I'd look at the Central locking relay that's under the dash top.
It's just to the left of centre and a a typically a grey rectangular relay. Std ford part and easy to replace. The push to make light in the centre console is a simple instantaneous button, controlled by the relay.

Just the obvious here, you have turned the interior door release left and right haven't you? It does something on mine to help clear these issues but not really sure what.

I have turned the knob left and right is that what you mean? Also I have read in the bible the location of the central locking relay but looking at the panel from above which one is it? I have ordered a relay, new door switches and all 4 solenoids on sale or return, not looking forward to changing the solenoids. Any tips or guides to doing this?

Thanks, I have the part ordered and it should arrive today, but on the actual panel which one do I need to swap or will that become obviously when I get the dash top off?

The boot release works would this suggest it's not the relay or is this operated by a different relay?

boot release is a different relay, once the dash top is off ( you can do just by raising the left hand side) it will be obvious which is the relay. its not mounted on a block, just laid ontop seperately ( may be screwed down), its the only relay with that pattern of connections.


just to add to this, from memory of many hours investigating a fault

the twist knob in the centre console has no real electrical input to the locking except the push to make switch and a light. the twisting action mechanically pulls cables that open each door. the action of the door opening triggers the pin switches at the bottom of each door. that pin switch sends a signal to the relay to unlock the rest of the car. if the relay doesn't fix it, take out and clean the pin switches. if it all works from inside the car, ie twisting the centre control and opening the door, triggers an unlock the relay etc and solenoids are working as designed.

any inability to unlock on the remote leans towards alarm/alarm interface issues then.

Just a suggestion, why not take out and clean the pin switches first? much easier to access than the dash bolts.
