I note my limited mileage Chimaera 500 policy has increased by over 20% for no apparent reason this year after several years of claim free policies with them via *annings.

The insurance Wiki is a tad out of date so I wondered who people are using these days which includes agreed value & limited mileage?

I fear this may be the insurance market in general and not just a greedy supplier

I was with the same insurer. Price went up a similar amount to you.

Classic line was £100 cheaper for me.

Good luck.

Just tell them your leaving because of a better offer, I did this with Adrian Flux knocked £200 off there and then, no proof of other quote required! B*^*rds felt like telling them to stick it for not offering it in the first place, But did lie a little about other quote so stuck with them as they were now by far the cheapest!

Adrian Flux have just done a good deal on my Tuscan.

A good service as well.

In the past when i have had quotes from them they didn't seem very competitive, but this time it was really good.

They even insured it on the Vin number while I get the car registered in the UK again !!

Classicline came out best when I did my renewal in October.

We also moved from Mannings to ClassicLine as Mannings wouldn't match the quote. We had good service from Mannings after an accident but not good enough to swallow the price difference.
Just about to renew ourselves so hopefully will be straight forward!

I have a limited mileage and agreed value policy with REIS who have looked after me for 5 years now. The premium this year was less than last at a fraction over £1 a day smile

Likewise with Adrian Flux and very good service. TVR 350i, 5000 miles per year including to and from office, garaged. Me and the missus. £130. It was £126 last year so only a £4 rise.

Check out some of the main insurance companies. They are now insuring TVR's, plus TopCashBack gives money back. Just got £62 back on the MX-5 with Direct Line

They also don't have limited mileage

I still don't understand how the Wedges are so much cheaper than a Chimaera. Good luck to the wedge owners.

Footman James gave me the best deal I've had in 6 years of ownership. Previous costs were £4-600. Now £120. I believe the fact it has just ticked over 20 years old may have helped things.

Wow thats amazing - are you sure its not for a Fiat 500? Is that linked to a joint policy or similar discount - sometimes the female driver loweres the quote ....

I have to say ultimate price isn't my only driver - for £230.00 its an agreed value policy with full Euro & UK breakdown cover, low excess, trackdays etc. Not the cheapest i was quoted but most comprehensive plus £100.00 cheaper than my current insurer.

Hi Andy

It's definitely a TVR, I've double checked wink

It's not part of any other policy, I've got nothing else insured with them, at the moment. Will certainly be asking them when the kit car is up for renewal though.
It is a classic policy, and I declared mods too, although I only know that the suspension and exhaust got changed.
