Thinking of getting a watch as a birthday treat this year, budget max 3k. I have seen this B&R that I love, and seen an unwarn one just in budget too but what are my other options, the style is perfect for me but I'm aware of the B&R reputation, is there anything better out there?

Thanks, they are very nice but just look a little cluttered when compared in my opinion, the relative simplicity is what I like about the B&R,.

What about Bremont? They have a similar design / style. A little marmite, but I like them.

Get it. Buy the watch YOU love; you'll be the one looking at it every day, not us.

I fully intend to, I should have made myself clearer, in oder to be "better" any watch would definitely also have to be more visually appealing to me too. I really don't know all that much about watches so want to make sure I'm not missing out on an alternative that I would kick myself about later, not fussed if I don't spend the full budget either, less is more as they say...

The B&R still stands head and shoulder over anything else I've seen so far thumbup

Looked at Steinhart, Sinn or some of the other Flieger style watches?

As others have said, though, buy what YOU like smile

The crown on that B&R is hideous. As someone said above, why not consider a Speedmaster?

google pilot watches, as that's the style of the B&R - there are lots that are similar. I like the look of the B&R, and so would tend to go for that, but it's a later watch in my collection not my first - but that's just me. Each to their own, which is exactly why there are lots of brands and price points.....

+1 for Sinn and Damasko, because of their outstanding build quality.

thumbup If you can afford one, check out Tutima too: Germany's Omega, but with some lovely flieger watches and still issued to the German military. eBay throws up some well priced Tutimas - definitely worth a look, because of their stunning quality.

Oris also do some aviation styled watches, this one may be suitable.
