Hey,

I've started looking for my first air cooled Porsche recently. Went to look at a nice 964 today, car drove great, no obvious leaks or anything, fairly decent bodywork, but the car hasn't really got any history over the last 5 years. It had an engine rebuild 5 years ago (at a cost of €11k), and has done 2k since then? With no other history to verify this mileage, would that bother anyone else? Prior to this, its got good history.

At the minute I can't work out why you would spend money like that, then hardly use the car? Maybe I'm being paranoid.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Depends whether the current indicated mileage is realistic or not ... I'd get it inspected and if there's nothing particularly amiss, enjoy the car for what it's worth! Just make sure that you factor in the potential damage to resale value of that history gap
