991 Turbo Rockers to paddles
Discussion
Does anyone know how complicated (read as expensive) it is to change a 991 Turbo (or turbo S) with wheel mounted gear change rockers to the more traditional behind the wheel paddle shift ?
Is it just a case of changing out the wheel to one with the paddles, or is there more things that'd need changing/reprogramming ?

Pretty sure it's just a case of changing the wheel (including the addition of the stalk thing that scrolls through the PCM functions). Porsche quoted around £1100 to get it done as I remember it. Tech art do a really nice paddle shift kit that allows you to keep the multi function wheel and that's about £500 if I remember right. I had it fitted to my car and it was great.
Thanks for the info guys
It still bemuses me why people continue spec them with the wheel mounted rockers, as they seem so counter intuitive to use in a world where even mini coopers come with paddles now days
It's good to see that at circa £1k change, it's not a deal breaker in the scheme of things when you're talking about a >£100k car

Been thinking about this on my 997.2 turbo S after a trip to the 'Ring last year. When pushing on I found that quite often I would change gear unintentionally when cornering which made a real mess of the exit! Can't really understand why someone buying a car like this from new would specify anything other than paddles. (I am 2nd owner). I guess price would be similar to that mentioned already?
