I had almost forgotten about this.

Seemingly a new show from a newish promoter but the format reads a lot like the old "Focus on Imaging" show that retired a couple of years ago.

Anyone planning to go?

yup - I'll be there, with both my lads (who are both way better at this photography lark than I am)

I'm slightly worried though, as I have nothing I'm particularly looking for, and I have a temporarily healthy bank balance due to the sale of some shares - there's much potential for a very silly impulse buy.....

Is it still the bargingfest of greasers with 100-400's who try and shoot the showgirls?

Well, if there's loads or people there with 100-400s, I'll take a footstool and my 50-500.... wink

No Idea.

Probably safest to assume that it is.

Looking at the layout plan (which I found less than helpful but that could have been me) there seems to be much less planned open space than in previous years when I have taken an interest (as Focus). If so, and assuming all the stands are taken, squashing could be part of the experience.

I note the ticket prices have gone up quite a bit and with new organisers and a new show I'm not currently in the free entry loop. No idea how much the parking is this time.

Looking at the list of exhibitors the only largish high street retail name that stands out is London Camera Exchange so I assume that have taken on the main large retail roles previously handled by Jacobs and others. That noted, Calumet seem to have a bigger stand.

Its not a 'new' show, it was held for the first time last year and was very successful, with many more stands and visitors than the preceeding Focus show.

I went last year and found it useful, I was able to try out some new kit, talk to exhibitors, and bagged a few bargains. It does get quite crowded, but this is true for most NEC shows. Car Parking I believe is £10 for the day, but I much prefer to go by train.

Was it not in London last year ...? Or have I skipped a year somewhere?

Either way it's new to me as I missed the last Focus (or maybe 2 of them) and have not attended this Future organised event yet.

No last year at the NEC, it was a long way better than any Focus I've ever attended.
