MISFIRE WHEN COLD

Hi all.
I've not used the Chimaera much over the winter but it has been started on a regular basis.
I've just returned from it's second outing this year with a smile on my face, she still drives as she should!
One thing however bothers me: On starting from cold the engine misses for probably thirty seconds or more but after that period is fine for the rest of the time.
A quick search on here suggested the coolant temperature sender, this was replaced as a matter of course last year with a Bearmach one when a lot of work was carried out. The other suggested culprit was the stepper motor and as this was the original I have replaced it with a new, genuine part. Alas, the problem is still there.
Whilst the "missing" occurs there is also a strong smell of petrol suggesting a very rich mixture. As I say, once a little warm, the car runs fine.
The engine is a standard 400 with a newly replaced standard camshaft. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I`m using BPR6ES or 7 ,if you are still on the CUX you could go go for BP6ES or 7 ,cheap and cheerful and they work .That `s what V8 Developments use .

All the work on the car was carried out about 200 miles ago, new plugs, leads, cap, rotor arm, cam, temp senders etc and it was all done by Central.
The new stepper hasn't cured it. Should I try another coolant temp sender? I know some of them are a bit dodgy.
