MAIN BEAM WARNING LIGHT

Hello again.....
I have noticed another new problem that is baffling me!
The main beam warning light has stopped working, the lights themselves are fine on main, dip and flash. I don't know if there is any connection but the rear fog light will work when the headlamps are on dip and flash but goes out when the headlamps are put on main beam!
I know it's a TVR and things like this are supposed to happen but any advice would be appreciated.

Can't help with the warning light (electrics aren't my strength), but can definitely confirm the fog lamp will not be activated unless dipped beam is selected.

I have obviously wrongly assumed that it would still work with the main beam on.
Just the warning light to fix now. I am lead to believe they are a bank of LED lights so am puzzled if one has gone.

It's a dash top off job to check, it could either be an LED has expired (unlikely) or one of the wires has come out of the connector block on the board that holds the leds.
With the dashtop off, this can be checked very easily

You access those lights through the radio panel just take the radio out and there are two small screws on each side to release the panel its probably a loose wire, I had the same problem just be gentle when you remove the lights from the panel the mounts were just stuck on with araldite

Thanks for the replies.
Mine is indeed a facelift car so it looks like a dash top off project.
It will give me an opportunity to sort the alarm out at the same time!
I'm thinking of getting a Meta replacement from Abacus but need to establish the exact type of connectors used.

You wouldn't have thought they'd have used screw terminals in preference to a multi plug but as we've said. it is a TVR! Regards Chris.
