Hi all, had first run out today since last november, car ran great but on way back l noticed my oil pressure gauge was eratic kept dropping to zero then oscillating, any ideas? And has anyone else had any problems after winter. Storage confused

If it is the original Caterham sender, then it is almost certainly that. At a minimum, fit a remote sender kit to move the sender to a better protected place.

Probably electrical, I'm assuming oil level is OK etc.
Have you got an oil warning light?

I think it is disgraceful that CC don't fit them as standard.
I fitted a 20psi switch, so there is a back up for the gauge and something to catch my eye if the pressure ever drops while driving.

Yeah it had a full service in october just before hibernation, its a 2007 k series supersport, with standard gauges by the way, forgot to mention

Yeah it had a full service in october just before hibernation, its a 2007 k series supersport, with standard gauges by the way, forgot to mention

had the same with my 2004 1.8k series. was the oil presure sender cheap easy fix, but would recomend upgrade as mentioned above

The alternative to fitting a mechanical gauge is to fit the standard OP sensor remotely. There used to be a kit of parts from Caterham or Think also will do it. Just a short braded hose with the right fittings. Then if you are in the mood you can fit a "T" end and have an OP warning sensor as well.

I got through 3 sensors before doing this and #4 lasted for as long as I had the car.

BTW on the k-series there were two different threads (changed over time IIRC). One course and one fine, easy to tell the difference between the two from memory.

Not sure, has an apollo fitted though.
