Manual Ferrari 599 sells for £462,000
Discussion
that selling price is wild - currently - but we are seeing uplifts across the board for seminal models that came in limited runs of manual gearbox, including 355's and 928's.
Manuals are being viewed and enjoyed as the equivalent original Supermodels ala Crawford, Moss, Enangelista
It seems there is a growing premium for such engaging fun and challenges behind the wheel.

An auction is never a good place to buy a car.....too many people get carried away and then pay an additional 8% buyers premium. Fantasyland. Possible that this car has zero miles or under 1,000.
Better to go to the likes of Hexagon and guarantee you're going to pay fantasyland prices!Whatever the mileage that price is bonkers. The 599 was not engineered for a manual box. It is totally compromised with it, so the premium is due to daft speculation in my view and not justified. Sure, there aren't many of them, but 4x the price of the superior version is completely irrational. If you've got one, now is the time to sell before the fools splashing the cash get blown out of the market.

In what way was it engineered for F1 - IIRC it's a pretty easy system to package - and why compared to other cars is the 599 particularly comprised by a manual gearbox?mwstewart said:

Isn't the real point that you could (I assume) retrofit a manual box to an F1 599 for a fraction of the premium just paid?
Oh absolutely. But then it wouldn't be original & in these high end parts of the market originality is often what creates the value. As crazy as that may seem.DK had a RHD one of these two or so years ago which IIRC sold for around £150k. f
k knows what that is worth now.
Maybe Ferrari can offer an official manual conversion like Aston do for the Vanquish....bet it's rather more than the £30k Aston want though!
That sale price is proper dot com bubble pricing though.....without any reference to reality. Just incredible.
