GT3 opinions sought
Discussion
I am about to buy a GT3 and have the following options. Assuming that budget is not a huge issue (other than wanting amazing value for money!), which of the following would people choose?-
1 GT3 Mk1, LHD, 2,000 miles for £50k - would need to do the 6 pot brake conversion and get a porsche warranty myself
2 GT3 mk1, rhd, 27k miles, around £50k, with brake conversion done and 9 month porsche warranty
3 your pick of GT3 mk2s from OPC/private with circa 18m warranties, around 4k miles for around £64k dealer, £60kish private.
Opinions would be gratefully received.
Cheers

I'd go for the RHD MKI
This will certainly have the best residuals out of the lot.
The MKI is a tad sharper on the handling, (poss due to it being lighter) the MKII is a tad quicker on the straights, but we are talking very marginal differences in both these areas.
If money is not an option, i'd go for the MKII (i have one) i prefer the more up to date look.
Both are awesome track cars, and yes brake upgrade on MKI is important IMHO

You can buy myt MK II from Stratstones of Wilmslow if you like They have it up for 65K:-

The kids are getting tired holding onto the roll cage in the back all the time - so waiting for the new 997TT.

You will not have to upgrade the brakes on a MK1 if you are not planning to do track days if you are Jasmine Motor sport do the upgrade for £1,100.00 + vat. Then sell the 4 pot calipers on ebay for £300.00 ish. With the MK2 the weak link is the suspension its just to soft even the RS suffers from the same to a point though it performs well with a track biased set up. Its accepted that Porsche softened the MK2 to appeal to the US market.
Mk2 prices are not far above Mk1's and with a stronger engine it would just tip the balance for me, fit Manthey or JRZ suspension then it would be perfect.
