Can we start a sensible thread for those of us who don't support a team of overpaid primadonnas?

Some of us actually go and watch our local side!!

I know this will rule out all you northern Chelsea fans, and Man U fans from everywhere, but come on, there are other leagues you know!

For my part, I will hold my hand up to being a loyal Plymouth fan and take whatever stick is coming my way - but not from you Premiership yahoo's

I support Preston...after all it's where I live!
I get really annoyed with glory supporters who'll only support premiership clubs and take the mick out of true supporters

Although they aren't my first team I have a great affinity to my local team - Huddersfield Town! Up the Terriers!

Been to a few of their games and it's good stuff, always been a fan of the lower leagues and whoever is playing, I usually enjoy football just for the joy of watching the game!

After seeing Liverpool play Man U today I would rather watch the Championship!!

Yay!

Went on PNE vs Leicester today. 1-1, pretty boring but with two very nice goals (well the 2nd one was better, but anyway...)

Ok, who do you think will get relegated/promoted out of each of the 'proper' () leagues?!

Here is my humble opinion*

Championship
UP
Ipswich
Wigan
Sunderland

DOWN
Rotherham
Cardiff
Forest

League 1
UP
Hull
Luton
Sheff Wed

DOWN
Wrexham
MK Dons
Stockport

League 2
UP
Yeovil
Swansea
Northampton

DOWN
Kidderminster
Cambridge

*bearing in mind I have approx. this much knowledge of non-champoionship teams

Not sure after the championship really but hopefully Forest won't go down, being my new local team and all!!

Also, I really hope that Hull get promoted from Division 2 (whatever it's called, it's still division two to me!) as they have had an awesome spell recently and successive promotions would be something special!!

God I hope not.

Good win for Watford yesterday against a Crewe side who really miss Dean Ashton. Cracking goals and some good passing too, so bodes well for Fulham on Wednesday and the Scousers a week Tuesday.

Indeed. Mixed memories of Fulham. On the one hand I can remember us winning Div 2 there, then turning the District Line into a sea of yellow. On the other, I still remember the 5-0 gubbing we got there on Boxing Day in the Prem season.

Only p*sser is the "prize" of a trip to Pride Park if we win. Gee, thanks!

Yeading lost 2:1 to Newcastle last week, I was properly impressed by that. Need to find out when they're playing next so I can pop along.

I hadn't realised how much fun football was once you take the nonces away!

I'm a Macclesfield Town fan - I didn't miss a home game for five years but sadly my attendance has dwindled in the last couple.

I enjoy it much more than supporting a big side, it costs less, it is easier to get to games and there's a good atmosphere at games. Memorable times include when we were promoted to what is now League One - and playing Man City and Fulham at their own level.

We also knocked Bolton out of the League Cup over two legs, and then went within two minutes of beating Middlesbrough at the Riverside. The FA Cup third round game at our ground against West Ham had all the BBC cameras in force - quite a lot of media spotlight for such a small club.

Rovers 0 - 3 Scunthorpe earlier this season was much better IMHO. It was raining then too - not so much fun in the away end. Still, got the result

Reading FC through and through, though how they get on against Swansea in the Cup replay tomorrow night should be interesting.

I'm rather proud of Exeter City given their recent successes! Lets hope they can pull it out of the bag again on Tuesday!
