All,

I'm thinking about taking the Tamora to France over April for a tour. I was just wondering if anyone has done this before would you know of any nice routes? More importantly I've found copies of the must have spares and tools to take for a Chimera but not a Speed six. Would anybody have any ideas or lists I would be very grateful.

Whilst you would possibly not need it, AA / RAC membership, just in case.

Expect to get stopped, if only so Le Gendarme can have a look round your car. That means meeting the French requirements including a hi vis jacket, warning triangle, (first aid kit or is that only Germany?) and spare bulbs. Clearly you wouldn't actually mess around replacing a blown bulb (and probably couldn't if it was a front bulb) so I carry a set for a Ford Puma that I found in the Halfrauds bargain bin... biggrin You'll find other help in the Le Mans threads.

This has been covered before and it's been highlighted that parts of France are closer than Scotland so don't panic about the need to carry spare piston rings or whatever. Enjoy it!

Mrs Djr and I did this last year in the Sag, we found that a couple of the hotels we had booked had entrances that we couldn't navigate in such a low car, one was Carcassonne and the other was ile d re.
Many of the small towns are the same unfortunately.
Once down in Cannes we had no problems.
A must on our trip was the Sanef automatic toll reader, breatherlisers are also required by law now,
Let your insurance company know you are traveling, watch the speed cameras, heavy fines
Are now imposed.
In the dozen or so times we've driven through France we've never had any major problems.
Enjoy
