V8 Vantage Clutch Change Out Step by Step Detail
Discussion
Hi, I changed the clutch in my 2006 V8 Vantage a while back and have illustrated the process on the attached link, such that it may be of assistance to anyone else who may want to embark on this without professional facilities (i.e off the garage floor)
I do hope its of interest.

I once did this alone...in a pit with a Mk1 Ford Escort gearbox resting on my shoulder - and then had to do it again as I hadnt heard of a clutch centering tool! You sir are in a different league! Fabulous project and write up (pics 41 and 42 may have slipped and are obscuring text).
Superb effort all round.

Hi Many thanks all for your kind words.
In reply to Bravo V8V, it took me around 40 hours, though to be fair, it was about 4 hours to get it up in the air bit by bit. It has to be said that I was enjoying the task and was just not rushing, tea breaks were plentiful and distractions were many.
I hope that with this detail someone could complete the task in a weekend once the car is up in the air. The Aston Workshop manual is accurate but just not easy to use, due mainly to the cross referencing required. This, I hope overcomes that.
Kind Regards,

Hats off to you mate. Ever heard of a guy called Maverick?
If anyone would like me to try this on their Vantage, please let me know. Mikey
Well at least you'd save the 4 hours by being able to get under the car without jacking it upIf anyone would like me to try this on their Vantage, please let me know. Mikey

Great write-up and thanks for posting. Good to see the work that goes into such a job.
Do you mind if this is added to the Aston Martin "FAQ"/Wiki?
Does anyone else mind me adding it?

The Plane does land, you know. lol

You've got to question the thinking behind the requirement for dropping the entire transaxle to do this job. No doubt there are many varied production reasons (NVH, packaging, harmonics, cost etc) for there not to be a flange with a handful of nuts and bolts poking out of the front of the gearbox, but damn, it would be a lot more straightforward if that were the case. Oh, and remove a manifold before being able to drop the "bellhousing"? Madness.
But top work on your perseverance and workmanship, OP.
