I have previously used Jaz for all my work but they have relocated to St Albans, and I have a new job which means I dont really have the time to get out there.

Does anyone have any suggestion of a solid garage OPC or Indy in London that they use and rate highly?

Cheers in advance.

think you should stick with jaz - they know your car and it will look better on service history to have same garage - maybe you can drop in to them over w end or something.

I would also stick with JAZ, I don't think there is anyone in the same part of london that compares. You can work out a way to ge tthe car over to them.

JZM is out that way & good too only thing is it's a bit big so you ususally speak to the receptionist rather than a tech & not that cheap

I used Porsche Tech in Finchley Road when I lived nearby, used many times and recommend, it's a one-man band run by a guy called Andy. Very nice bloke, knows his stuff, has done little jobs for me for free, very personal. Just checked service prices & not actually that cheap though
http://www.porchetech.co.uk/

I also used a place called PorscheWOrx in Belsize Park and didn't go back, PM if you'd like details

I don't think it's worth the ballache or expense of going out to Jaz to preserve the service history - unless it's all OPC, it makes no difference, or because they 'know your car', what does that even mean, there are thousands of Porsches out there unless yours is modded it's just another Porsche to the garage.

If yours is a 996T, I'd recommend Nine Excellence. About half an hour out of Waterloo to Horley by train so commutable.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm in east London so will have a go at tower Porsche e. Depending on how they are I might go back to Jaz because even though I agree that my car is just another 997 to them I trust their work and judgements. Even though they are bloody miles away now.

Cheers.

Why not take a nice run out to Jaz in your car (St.Albans is only 20 mins down the M1 from the North Circular) and then get the train back, it's 22 mins to Kings Cross?

It's actually St Pancras International then Faringdon, City Thameslink and Blackfriars, if that helps. Fast trains every 20 mins off-peak daytime. Some stop at West Hampstead, so you could do a run to Pinner/Wembley Park etc via Finchley Rd tube. A St Albanite writes.

My 944 Turbo had £10k spent with RGA over 12 months by previous owner, they sound quite thorough and the PO was pleased with them - but going through the invoices there were a couple of times that they charged for the same work twice.

One example would be when it had the belts changed. A few hundred miles later it was booked in for vibration and was found that they had fitted the balance shaft 180' out - but rather than sorting the issue under good will (their mistake), they charged for the time it took to put it right!!

Had that had been my money, I would not have been happy!!
