My dream car from the late 80s/90s.

Needs a bit(!) of TLC. But the colour is lovely. Seriously thinking of making an enquiry...I am imagining that it might be somewhat ruinous. But it's gorgeous!

Certainly ruinious, but what a lovely way to bankrupt. Plenty of owners on the amoc website. You dont need to be a member to read.

Also, get the vacuum pipes changed..

Didn't find the ball and as far as I know it's not been crashed into any wall and definitely not that one.

Will make some inquiries. I've already ascertained that it's been in that spot for quite a while.

Will let you know how I get on. I suspect it's going to be prohibitive but nothing ventured bothing gained...

If you are keen, get it inspected by a recognised aston specialist. A few hundred here could save you many thousends. At the very least, it will give you a to-do list.

Big virage fan here, but I am not blind to their faults

The photograph seems to show the colour suiting the shape of the car in a way that I would not have imagined.

One day in the distant future you'll regale people in the pub with the story of how you bought an unloved Virage and brought it back to health.......whilst ruining your bank balance and sanity in the process.

Go for it if you can, that's what I say. After all, what could possibly go wrong hehe

There's an article in the latest Vantage magazine about buying £30K Aston's, there's a nice multi-page report on the DB7 Vantage, the Gaydon era 4.3 V8 Vantage, the first gen DB9 and the original Virage.
Interesting reading. I also think the red suits the car well. Apparently lots of parts were sourced elsewhere (Headlights from Audi, rear lights from a VW Scirocco, air con from an XJ40 Jag and so on) so cheaper to replace. Most came with a 3 speed slush box and a few were equipped with a manual gearbox but they're a rare find. Is this one auto or manual? Value is £25K - £40K depending on condition.

Don't like the colour. Does not suit the car.

Inquiries are in progress.

It's in better shape than I first thought...and it's manual, which I like the idea of.

Thanks for the tips and interesting reading materials. Need to investigate this a lot further before I decide whether jump in or not as it's not going to be a straightforward or short term commitment to ownership. Will keep all posted on how things go. Firstly to see if current owner will even consider selling it...

Regarding the colour - the side on pic doesn't do it justice.

I like these, quite retro and cool. What's up with the bonnet on that one though? Has it been crashed or is it just left open?

OP, I suggest you post on the AMOC forum - the very helpful owner of that concours-winning green Virage frequents there more than here.

Bonnet is just open apparently. Not damaged.

Will look over at AMOC as well as mentioned. Seems to be a lot of info, knowledge and experience over there.
