Description:
TVR Griffith 400 Project!! we have this Car for more than 20 Years and bought it as a disesembled/ not complete project for restoration near Hamburg / Germany. The TVR was registrated last Time in 1973 in Hamburg with the ID/ VIN Number : KBA 4006039GT. There is an old Vin Plate on the Body and the Car came with one original Numberplate in the Back from 1973.I have only the old Bill off sale with this Number and NO V5 or the German KFZ Brief.
The seller told me he bought the TVR from a Man from the UK who was in the RAF in Germany. He was racing the Car also.Thats all I know.
But here are the Infos for the TVR.
Brand new ( 25 years old) DG V 8 Chassis only with surface rust. Perfect like new original Griffith Bonnet, Very nice Body that needs only little work.
Original Ford 289 cui/4700cc Hipo Engine with the Engine Number C40E-6015B .The Engine has a the Bolt Bellhousing. The Engine was rebuild with all new Parts and runs perfect.( It came out of a 1964 Ford Falcon K Code HT Coupe )There is also the 4 Speed Ford v 8 Transmission.
There are some Suspention Parts,Koni Gas shocks, new Coil Springs front /rear,Door Parts ,Door window regulator 2x,Steering and other stuff.( I have a Jaguar V12 Diff from 1972 with LSD)
Missing a lot off Parts: Interior,Glass,Uprights,Driveshafts,Dash with Gauges and other stuff.
You do right with the point: " you get what you see in the Fotos" or call me please for more infos.
Maybe trade in for another classic Car Triumph TR,MG,race Car project up to 7500GBP.

Sadly (so I heard) this Griffith 400 seems to be a copy of the real deal from the US made many many years ago in the time of the originals I guess.

This all happened long long time ago when it was easier to copy a car in the times without home computers.

So it could be a 'real' Griffith 400 perhaps on paper, but it was/is as it seems a copy (numbers) of the real deal so it seems, so be aware you calculate such info in when you consider buying.

could still be a great car when finished and fits in the great TVR histories with ups and downs biggrin

Yet has a correct chassis and body?

There are a number of facsimiles around…This one could be made much more accurate than most.

Looks like the basis for a lovely replica, but will probably cost more to build
than will be worth.
