left the car under its nice new christmas hood cover, thinking it would keep the interior nice and dry in all them storms we had last week. This wasn't a cheap nylon thing - name no names but it's supposed to be one of the best.

Result - one nice dry interior!

Only problem is that the paintwork right round the edges of the cover, and especially the rear edge of the bonnet and the front edge of the boot, has been scratched to hell by the edge moving slightly in the wind...

I'm not a happy pixie. I need a garage - how much does a detached garage cost?

You mean a pre-fabricated one that you can put together yourself or a brick one? Not sure of your driveway layout etc but have you considered a car port? Very cheap (compared to a garage) and very simple to put together.

I see an advert every week in my local newspaper for pre-fab garages.... Worth looking through your own I'd have thought

You can buy a metal car shed kind of thing from Argos.

www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=2501&productId=110188&Trail=C%24cip%3D16674.Sheds&categoryId=16674&clickfrom=name

Not sure whether it would wide enough for anything other than storing the car.

Prefab ones come up on Ebay quite a lot....

Usually have to collect, but hire of a van for the day is cheap.

Most people just want to get rid of them so they go for peanuts.

Oh, also this company - www.leisurebuildings.com/products/garages/ - do several wooden and metal garages. I think they come and put it up for you.

It's the bloke who built up www.ten-tenths.com if that's any comfort.

Craig's his name.
