list price I would say if its unregistered. OPC must be selling and cant ask for overs first time around

or are you saying that this is an unwanted engine swap car that the dealer bought back?

I'd say it depends what you are going to do with it.

What's the spec?

If you want to keep it for 20years and not turn a wheel on it, for speculation, then great.

If you want to drive the wheels off it, what's the difference between this and one with 1,000-10,000 miles on it? Its not like you are speccing the options. I'd get the spec I want or as close as I can, rather than new but not perfect spec. And I wouldn't pay more for 0 miles, it's still used and specced by someone else.

I'd be buying from a Euro country to sell on in the UK if there is anything in it.

Or anywhere else really where the exercise is worthwhile.

Is it LHD? How can you tell?

If it is RHD, UK list + up to £20k is a good guide imho. The newly launched Cayman GT4 is attracting a lot of attention, as is the new 991 GT3RS - both taking the shine off the lofty prices.

The 991 RS and Cayman GT4 (both of which are massively oversubscribed and therefore unobtainable for most people) are taking the shine of GT3 prices.

Really?

How does that work?

If you look at what they're selling for on the continent, then you could have a low miles GT3 for around £115k landed
I'd use that as a ballpark for a new unregistered one.
If RHD, then the world of speculation's your oyster, and you're probably looking at £150+ for a new non GB supplied RHD car assuming that Porsche GB will become suddenly unhelpful in the case of any warranty claims (?)

I guess it works by people comparing the relative prices of the cars and balancing that against availability. I know the 991RS is currently "unavailable" for many people, but when you know people are getting a brand new RS for £135-£150k, it's going to make people pause before chucking £180k at a regular 991 GT3. Same the other way to the Cayman GT4. I'm sure it's a cracking car specced up to £80k if you can get one and that would be a £70k saving over a 991 GT3. Supply has increased with three models in the market now (or very soon) and people have got reference points against the over-hyped "£180k" GT3.

The 991 GT3 is a £140-£160k car depending on spec in my view. No idea where it will go from here.....

Anyone thinking the list price new of the likes of restricted run cars such as the GT4 and 991 GT3 RS having a bearing on the GT3 are living in cloud cuckoo. As with the GT3, Porsche have deliberately under priced these halo models. Talk of UK OPCs being offered £100k and £250k respectively for the first of these models arriving second hand speaks volumes of the cars true worth and people should really learn to differentiate between cost and value.

I personally think what will really test RHD 991 GT3 prices is when LHD 991 GT3 RS's become available in Europe. Judging on list prices a LHD RS will be cheaper than a RHD "regular" GT3. List price in Germany is about £130k for an RS....£20k premium still puts it below a RHD CAR.

I did suggest list + up to £20k as a guide. Porsche adopt almost uniform pricing across Europe for all their cars - to sell the biggest volume at the optimum price, they know what the market place can absorb for the volume they have in mind better than some random people on the internet. There is no under pricing per se. The cost is finite amount set by the experts. The value is dynamic and only in recent years has the after market price far exceeded the list price, and only in the UK it seems. LHD 991 GT3's are still available at list. Talk about £100 thousand premium on the RHD 991RS is just that imho - talk. LHD 991RS's are available without a premium, it seems. However, I am not a 991 GT3 owner ( my bag is BMW's) and bow to the wisdom of owners & Porsche experts. Thanks.

I know of at least one OPC with 2 LOIs to proceed with the 2nd hand purchase of an 991 GT3RS to a maximum of £250k at the earliest possible opportunity.

Porsche may be selling these cars at £130k to £150k, but the market won't value them at that price when they become 'available'

Thanks for clearing that up, I suppose Porsche did not manage the RHD pricing that well. Up, up and away. LHD is a more attractive proposition - same driving pleasure, and less price volatility.

Back in the day of the London economic miracle, when the "in joke" was "what is the difference between a hedgehog & a Porsche" I detested the "Porsche brand" and all it stood for. Having owned a 996turbo for the last 8 years I am softening up a bit. . . . but, when I read threads like this (of which there are just SO many on Pistonhead) I realise my original judgement (vis a vis the owners , NOT the cars ) was sound, and wonder why I even bother to leave 911uk to browse on here.
