Hey guys,

I'm looking for some advice on a garage to use for some work I need done. I own an'08 Mini Cooper S Works and I'm looking to swap out the enginer. Basically it will be a like for like swap with a lower mileage engine (My current engine is "gubbed" for want of a better word).

I'm looking for a reliable place in Glasgow/South Lanarkshire that will do the job for a reasonable cost.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

There's a few PH'ers with garages or contacts in that area. OlberJ and Jith come to mind but I'm sure there'll be a few suggestions and potentially a PH discount on the work somewhere.

AAAArrghh!! Not in a road car it's not!!

Rusty fixings, more rusty fixings and yet more rusty fixings yet again!

Beware of different engine codes and ECU compatability OP.

Hi everyone,

Apologies, I haven't been able to log on recently. Thanks for all your suggestions.

I'm currently considering what to do with the car e.g fix it or go all out and completely rebuild it to the way I've always wanted it.

I'll keep all suggestions in mind going forward.

After a similar incident I sent mine down to Coastal Racing in Morcombe. They collected it for a not unreasonable fee too. A couple of folk I know from the MINI scene have had Carl re build their cars. Coastal have been racing MINI's R53 and R56 for about 10 years now.
