I'm looking for a solution to neatly contain all the AV bits and pieces that go with my TV.

Sky+HD box, Blu-ray etc.

The TV is wall mounted centrally in the lounge and I want a unit or shelving solution to sit at ground level to the side and hide most of the cables etc.

Google doesn't seem to be helping much so I wondered what other PH'ers have done.

You could try Jali, I have used them a few times to make exactly what I want.

I put mine in a sturdy 19" rack under the stairs, the other side of the wall from the living room, controlled using a Marmatech IR/RF remote extender.

I don't have to worry about aesthetics or even matching colours since it's all out of sight. Bonus is that when I watch films on my projector there are no annoying LEDs from displays to light up the room on dark scenes.

Mine's under the stairs as well.... works OK but it's not as flawlessly integrated as I had hoped for.

Thanks all, unfortunately due to the distances involved it's not practical to put the equipment under the stairs, despite the ample space available there.

I suspect I'll go for a wooden shelving unit i'll check out the suggested companies,

Thanks,

I've been slowly chipping away at my install! I built a false wall in an alcove, decided where everything would go and then built some chunky floating shelves and positioned them so the devices would go where all the cables popped out the wall. This solution was great, but my amp died and I got a significantly larger model to replace it with.

After looking at all the options available, it's more effort, but the AV gear is being rack mounted under the stairs. The side of the stairs are being adapted so that a section of it is being put on a hinge so can open up and can get to the rack. I'm using Neet IR extenders, HDMI over CAT5E and have a 24 port switch for all gadgets to be connected to the network by. An Ipad with apps then controls the whole lot or the remotes can still be used via the extenders.

When I finish, I post some pics up.

This is how my TV looked previously.

I have now mounted it on the wall and run the cables in the wall to the floor. I have the amp and cable box in the cabinet with a Harmony remote working through RF. It works very well and is a simple solution. The stand itself started out looking like this,

I took the legs offand cut a hole in the back for cables

I had a similar dilemma as I was upgrading from my Anthem, and so I decided to order this. Hasn't arrived yet, but hopefully should work well.

I found this was one of the few companies that designed the compartments in a suitable size to fit standard AV equipment.

Looks nice, but not having a back on it would annoy me too much.

I want my cables hidden.

Not bought anything from them, although I need a similar solution soon, and came across their website.
