Wondered if anyone suffers this or knows how to remove to seek a remedy.

My gearknob vibrates... ooh errr . around 3-4k cant really feel it much but it makes a racket.

Imaging a wedding ring just touching it ...ideas guys.

04 cv8 with ripshifter in case that makes a difference.

Common issue with ripshifter there are adjusters on the shifter to stop this you will see them if you remove the gaiter

Had this on mine, although it's got a B+M GTO shifter.

I pulled my knob off and applied some silicone sealant onto the shifter, replaced it and annoying buzzing has gone.

Really easy.

I thought there was a race rip-shifter which always vibrates, and a sports rippy which is rubber mounted?

The top unclips there is 1 screw in the cubby hole at the front that secures it takes just a couple of mins to get to it

There's just one screw to remove in the cubby hole forward of the shifter. Then it's a case of gently prising out the console, not forgetting to disconnect the window switches etc.

Once it's all free, all that's left to do is pull firmly on the knob. It'll be stiff but with a good tug it comes off quite easy.

rofl Can't believe I wrote that!

There's one screw that holds it in under here (it's actually already removed in this picture, but it's at the back of this little cubby area)

You can just see the screw hole here, once that's out, you start prizing it open from the arm rest cubby, just lift and it un clips. Here you can see it partially unclipped (although the armrest is back down on top of it for some reason)

The wires are connectors for windows etc. are easily unclipped, the wire here still connected is for the Wortec switchable exhaust.

Little leather boot just lifts out of the way thumbup
