Streaming music from laptop to Hi-Fi?
Discussion
Im after something which will stream sounds/music from my laptop over to my speakers and hi-fi system. Ideally if it could be over wifi that would be great, as my laptop doesnt have bluetooth, although an adapter isnt too expensive. I want something which will do all sounds - there are apps which will stream spotify or Windows Media, but nothing which will transmit all sounds- Youtube, games, etc. Basically replace the audio lead with a wireless thing.
Does any of that make sense?

There is a free piece of software called Songcast available at http://www.linn.co.uk/software which lets you play all the sounds from your computer through your hi-fi wirelessly.
It only works with Linn stereos though.

Yeah, that looks to be about it. Ideally if there was one which worked without the big stick in the USB port - via wifi - that would be good, but its about there.
From what I have read, the systems that use wifi for transmission to your hifi can cause slow internet connection, but maybe that issue has been overcome on newer versions.Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
