I have an S2 which needs to have it's engine mounts replaced.I intend to do the work my self. Please can you tell me what is the best way to support the engine.
Also where is the best place to get the actual engine mounts(2inch)thickness The engine is a Sierra V6.
Any help much appreciated

Thanks for the reply, but I need to ask you another question. Can I do this job without removing the engine. Is it possible to just raise and support the engine while changing the engine mounts or must the engine come out before tackling such a job.

I have been told that it is possible to change the engine mounts by just raising the engine but I,m not so sure, therefore please can you advise me.

Many Thanks

Yes but don't use the sump as it will bend or even crack.

Just did this job over the weekend, I managed to get a piece of bar onto the engine and jack the engine high enough to get the mount off, I did have the take the main mount off the engine to get the rubber out on the drivers side. It was quite a pain and would maybe consider getting a quote from a garage first to see what they’d charge.
