Discount on ex-display bikes?

So I've put down a deposit (£10) with halfords for a voodoo bizango. I'm happy that its the bike I want. However, they only had 1 bike in stock when I went in. So the bike I've reserved with the deposit will be the exact same one that was on display in the shop and that I briefly rode around the store.
Would you normally expect to get a discount on this type of bike?
I'm not confident I would based on the fact that they seem to sell like hotcakes and that I've already mentioned I'm planning on getting 20% off with British cycling and work vouchers...
So, question one is would it be fair to ask for discount? And question two is would you expect them to give me any more discount?

Yes I would - specifically at Halfords.
Unless the bizango has been discontinued, ask them to order one into the store for you. Or order it online yourself to collect in store. (Don't forget you get 10% off at Halfords for British cycling membership)
When I bought my CX in November 13, I received 10% off for it being an ex display (that had been ordered into the store for me - last small in the country). I also got a free 12 month care plan thrown in as there was a noticeable scratch on the top tube.
Ex display bikes that aren't in demand are often flogged at ludicrous prices, in store. Often picked up by staff to eBay apparently.....
10% British cycling, 10% off ex display and 10% off for last years model on sale made that a very cheap bike....

Why specifically at Halfords?? Surely you'd ask for a discount at any bike shop? I wouldn't be surprised to find that Halfords work to smaller margins than your average independent bike shop.
