It's the owners sons, had a look at it last year as I live locally. I was surprised how much better it looks in the flesh than the pics as well. The interior is a big step forward isn't it, although I wouldn't have had the sunroof option myself.
You know the car then.
Yup, not too sure on the sunroof myself.Coming from the monaro there are a few things I like about it, and some things I don't. Visibility around the car seems worse - wing mirrors seem too squat and a lot of obstruction over my shoulder. Could be just the tinted windows though. Car feels a lot bigger than the monaro although I don't think it is.
Engine is fantastic - loads of power and supercharger whine is addictive. Steering and gear change are quicker, and seats are great too. Not sure on the bi-model exhaust system - you have to push it to get it to sound raspy/sporty (but then a lot of newer performance cars have gone this way) and I didn't notice any popping on overrun. Probably more refined/controlled engine, or I just didn't get to fiddle with the right settings...
Gizmos galore! keyless ignition, lots of setting adjustments and readaouts, big lcd display and the like. Bose sound system - but who needs that?

Electronic handbrake takes some getting used to though. Didn't really get chance to push the cars handling etc but then didn't want to break it or attract the resident plod who like to hang around up there.
Had a long drive back in the monaro and I do like it's old fashioned basicness and sound (I have a wortec cat back). Better visibility for me too, but then I have fitted the wide angle mirror glass. Does make me think about getting it supercharged now though...

Mod the Monaro, you will look way cooler in it

Don't be daft old chap

The GTS is a beaut to own, I love mine to bits. It is VERY thirsty though and the electronic handbrake can be a little grumpy at times. You wont get the lifetime warranty unfortunately, but so far in over a year has only had one warranty recall for a slightly dodgy connector that just needs a bit of waterproof grease.

But foe MW...... A sports car can only have 2 doors

Funnily enough while driving back went through a village and drove passed a couple of kids/teenagers, and one exclaimed "I thinks that's a monaro!".
Blipped my throttle for 'em.
I get a lot more interest in the VXR8

Well - even though that GTS is a nice car I don't need 5 doors, and probably something stock. The two door styling of the monaro suits me better - so may look into a RHD V8 Mustang when I need to change.
Will have to check one out when they eventually are available over here.
I don't need the extra 2 doors either, though it was a great bargaining tool with SWMBO in that her mum can sit in the back now, instead of having to sit in the front of the BMW or the Corsa

Why don't you like the sunroof? I've just picked up a Calais V that has one and quite like it

Monaro is 4798 x 1841 mm
GTS is 4988 x 1899 mm
So GTS is bigger.
VE/VF visibility has always been criticised, especially the A pillars and mirrors. VF has front and rear parking sensors, self park, rear camera, and side blind zone alert to try and address that. Mirrors are still too small though.
