Race Meeting Dates

Hello,

Does anybody know when the British GT will be on at Oulton park this year. Need to know ASAP so I can book holidays if required.

No British GT at Oulton Park, or any MSV circuit this year.

2005 British GT Race Dates

Apr 2- 3 Donington Park
Apr 30-May 1 Magny-Cours (GT2 only)
May 7- 8 Croft (GT3 only)
May 21-22 Knockhill
Jun 11-12 Thruxton
Jun 25-26 Castle Combe
Aug 13-14 Silverstone Grand Prix (&LMES)
Sep 17-18 Mondello Park
Oct 8- 9 Silverstone International

I think that the Thruxton date has been moved to September due to a clash with the Masters F3 race.

AKAIK, that could be just the F3's, however, the Thruxton date is between LM Pre-Qual and the race itself.

Speaking to people at Autosport I get the impression the calandar is in flux. But when is there free in September that wont have a GT clash?
Sept 10/11 - LMES/BF3 Nurburging
Sept 17/18 - BGT/BF3 Mondello

I suppose there is leeway in using either the 3/4 or 24/25 but that is tight for getting cars back re0fettered and out again.

Gutted! Why no Oulton Park? Its a great circuit, was looking forward to that. All the other circuits are miles away from where I live, oh well I suppose I'll have to make a weekend of it and do a bit of travelling!!

Mr Ratel and Mr Palmer are in the middle of a bit of a spat re circuit hire costs - net result is no MSV tracks on the calendar. That means no Brands too .

Basically there was a difference in what MSV were charging and what SRO wanted to pay.

Great, you can tell that motor racing is more a business than a sport. It's just like multi-billionaire Bernie Ecclescake moaning that Britian wasn't paying enough to host a grand prix!

Don't the fans mean anything to these people, they are making a sport I love even more inaccessible(spelling?)!!

I suppose there always the television coverage thats on at various times during the early hours of the morning, so your guaranteed to miss it!

SRO have just confirmed that the Thruxton date, after much bouncing around, has settled on 28-29 May (leaving bank holiday monday free for FIA Euro Top Fuel at Santa Pod!)

I heard it went somthing along the lines of Mr Palmer saying thats the rate everyone else pays take it or leave it...

Just noticed Oulton Park is missing. I'm gutted too I love that weekend.
