A wonderful gift

A dear friend passed away in February, and it was good to see so many turn up at his funeral, especially quite a number in classics. Mine must have known because it refused to start and flattened the battery! However, yesterday his son phoned and came round to see me with this:-



The 1953 team plus a small diorama of the 1957 Ecurie Ecosse. This he had made himself in his retirement, and it was his wish that everything Jaguar should come to me. It now has pride of place in my collection. Thanks John.

I am imagining that was a bequest from John Curtis Lowdrag.
Just goes to show, he was a thoroughly decent gentleman in life and equally so after passing.
John's "sort" are increasingly rare and he will be massively missed.
A proper enthusiast, a proper person.
