LCD screens query

[Targarama]

Who makes whose screens? I'd like to buy a good quality screen, but the big names' screens are all pricey. I know to avoid the cheap ones in the LCD market, but how about Samsung (don't they make other people's screens? I'm sure they used to make Dell screens at least), or LG or another unknown name?

I'm after a 19 incher BTW.

Thanks.

I don't know about 19", but I have a 15" LG Flat-tron, and it's first class. 1 dud pixel in the whole panel, and you can't see it under most circumstances. My father has a 15" Iiyama, which is also excellent.

I think I'm right in saying only a couple of companies make the panels, which are then built into all kinds of other brand screens. IIRC, LG are one, but don't take that as gospel. I would try googling to confirm who they are, then get one of their monitors. They'll undoubtedly use their best panels in their own monitors!
