Charity Karting Endurance Race

Motorsport celebrities, top karters together with leading British drivers donned their race helmets alongside members of the press in the new Karting Oxford indoor karting track at Autosport International on Thursday 13 January at 3:30pm, for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity Endurance Kart Race.

Twelve teams of between four and six drivers went head to head in the two-hour marathon. Drivers included Gary Catt, Jason Green, Craig Murray, Danny Watts, Martin Plowman, Andrew Thompson and Susie Stoddart to name a few.

Journalists from Haymarket Publications also pitted their skills against rival journalists from a range of press, including a team from Crash.net and Key 103 DJ Mike Toolan.

The event was won by ex TVR Tuscan Nathan Freke who was invited at the last minute to race with ex F3 Swedish star Tommy Johanson, and American Champ car racer AJ Allmendinger. The trio proved to be the dream team resulting in a resounding win for the team. In a robust race all three drivers stood out and ran out winners by 3 laps over the 1 hour endurance.
