Hello folks

Having experienced misfiring when warm in my S3 (pre cat) and after reading numerous posts both here and on the tvrcc site and I suspect the ignition coil may be at fault. I have also spoken to David Gerald TVR who also suggested this too.

After reading the alternative parts lists I ordered a Lucas DLB 125 coil from www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk

It arrived yesterday and was completely different to what I was expecting to receive (see link below)

http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/lucas-dlb125...

Having spoken to them today, I was told that this is a straight replacement for the old wet coil and will work perfectly well. Has anyone else fitted one of these coils to their car? If so, which is the positive connector? My old cylindrical coil is simply marked + and - whereas this new coil is marked 1 and 15.

Can anyone help? Should I be looking for something more akin to the existing coil?

Thanks

Andy

Seems a bit strange they are calling that a DLB125 coil? I've no doubt it will do the job but title should say "alternative" ?

I'd give them a call and ask for some instructions wink

Fitted the new coil (Lucas as above) today and it has made a massive difference to the car. It idles smoother, pulls better than ever and has never coughed once. Even after a decent run it behaved itself impeccably.

Cheers Damian

I've only had the car a few weeks and it is my first TVR. I know changing a coil isn't like major heart surgery, but I do feel a sense of achievement without a doubt!
