About $3 from WalMart. Or about £7 from Bauer Millett (Manchester), Crownhill (Milton Keynes), Claremont (Maidstone), Eurovettes and others. Plus p&p no doubt. Unfortunately you can't just get one from your local Vauxhall dealer. Some people sell the Fram equivalent of the Delco PF44. For oil you can either use the UK spec' Mobil 1 or get the US spec' from Eurovettes and others.

I got Mobil 1 oil from Eurovettes a while back. I think they had some deal with enough oil for a change plus a filter. They were very good on price and incredibly quick. I'll doubtless use them again when I need to.

Try mid-american,i order over the net and a couple of weeks later the parts turn up,they have given me exceptional service.
Also Ecklers or Central Corvette.

If your local Vauxhall dealer also sells the Monaro you may get one from them.

By the way, the ACDelco PF44 has now become the PF46.

My oil now needs changing, it was last done at BM. What is the standard oil spec as used by BM and filter for the C5? Is there a benefit to paying £150 for an interim oil service, or get the bits and DIY?

Looks like Eurovettes favourite, and Mike, I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread

The correct filter is the ACDelco PF46 mentioned above. GM say in the handbook that the best oil to use is Mobil 1 SAE 5W-30 but this is not available in the UK. Last time I looked, the Mobil 1 sold in Halfords was 0W-40. I wrote to GM about the oil earlier this year and this is what I said:

"..... the oil recommended by GM for my car is Mobil 1 SAE 5W-30 and my handbook says that SAE 10-30 is acceptable above zero degrees fahrenheit. In any event the handbook says that the oil must meet GM
standard GM4718M. The problem is that retailers only sell Mobil 1 in 0W-40. I understand that 5W-30 is made under licence in the UK and is generally hard to get and is not sold at all to the public in the UK.
However, my local Vauxhall dealer (Sewards of Christchurch) have Vauxhall fully synthetic oil at 5W-40 and Mobil 1 at 0W-40. Neither oil says anything about GM4718M.
Frosts of Shoreham who were an authorised North American approved dealer until last year use Mobil 1 0W-40 for Corvettes.
Bauer Millett who I believe are the only authorised North American dealer at the moment also use Mobil 1 0W-40.
In view of the above it would appear impossible to use the GM approved oil of 5W-30. Can you please confirm that 0W-40 would be acceptable to use and will not invalidate my warranty....."

GM replied that the following engine oils can be used safely:
Mobil 1 - 0W-40
Mobil 1 - 5W-40
Mobil 1 - 5W-50

If you are under warranty, my advice would be to do what I did for my first oil change. I used my local Vauxhall dealer's Mobil 1 but I supplied the filter and made sure they specified the filter used on their invoice. You do not have to use BM - your warranty is still intact.

If you are not under warranty then save yourself a fortune by doing it yourself.

Thanks for the info Rich. Car now out of warranty, having had its last service at Bauer Millett for final warranty work. DIY job now.

I see Linden Specialist Vehicles at Wellingborough, HSV specialist, are said to be an approved servicing agent for Corvette. So they say. Any experience anyone?

mines an intermediate oil change, cars only done 4k miles since last service but oil life gauge says change soon so i'll do it myself.
can't see any problem with using other brands of oil as long as its the right spec.

I use Amsoil SDF 32 filters available from:

Performance Oils Limited
Lydiate Lane
Lynton
North Devon
EX35 6AJ

They also supply Amsoil 5-30W fully synthetic oil.

Check Amsoil's web site - the best you can get - allegedly

Anyone know if Eurovettes are away as they're not answering my calls. Or recommend an alternate supplier? I'm down to 2% of oil life
