Hi,

The girlfriend and I are planning to go to New York at the end of May/Beginning of June for 4 or 5 days.

Hopefully my brother will be able to get us a cheap hotel. (He's currently working at the Hilton Hotel in South Carolina) but we need some cheap flights!!

The cheapest i've seen is £330 return! (With BA)

We're looking to fly out on the Monday and return on the Friday or Saturday.

Cheers,

Phill

Go a month earlier - flights are just over £200 through expedia. It lists BA fares at £284 for 30th May. Sometimes they are cheaper than booking direct with the airline.

Also one advantage of expedia is that you choose your seat when you book the flight. Saves having to check in early.

Towman,

I can't seem to get the flights down to under £360 on expedia.

What dates, airport etc did you put in?

You have to remember that to qualify for the majority of "cheap" flights theres a six-day rule or a saturday rule.. check this and you might get it cheaper!

Meaning that it is cheaper to fly on the Saturday?

No. You have to be in US on any saturday. Midweek flights are cheapest. BA.com has LHR - JFK 25/5 - 1/6 for £290. Problem is airport taxes are £82 pp. Flights cant get much cheaper.

If you are there over a Saturday night then it isnt a business flight.

By the logic of the Airlines...

Can you go earlier? Best price I could find was with BA executive club (you need to register - it`s no big deal).

LHR - JFK 27/4 - 6/5 £380 for two.

I`m bored, so I`ll keep looking !

dialaflight have always been excellent, cant fault their service and have always managed to get me the best prices
i fly to NY quite a lot but its usually booked quite late.( not the best way these days)

HOWEVER; I've just been told that contrary to what was prevalant(previously you could only book a flight in the country of origin) you can now book flights from an agent in another country if this is tru its worth looking at some of the stateside websites and attempting to book online the service is fantastic and the prices once currency is taken into account are about half what we pay my G/F flies here for peanuts on exactly the same flights i need to get an organ removed to pay for
good luck
