Sat two cars behind a lovely looking M6. Two teenagers pointed at it, obviously they liked it, saw ours ignored the M6 and stood looking at the R8 until the lights changed at which point they were egging me on to roar off or whatever.
BMW ignored.

I find most people walk straight past the Monaro and don't notice it, untill I start it up. Usually turns a couple of heads.

Find that too, especially having a standard looking CV8, pretty sure VXR nostrils help a bit for those that have them. But yes, with all the loud bits on, starting up gets everyone swiveling round. The facial expressions say it all too, mostly women with the look of 'what is that racket' and the blokes just nodding approvingly biggrin

I park the R8 on my open plan drive, sue's Hyundai coupe gets more attention, from those that don't know what it is. I did have a kiwi stop whilst I was washing it yesterday to chat about it. He's got the same car back home!!

My facelift Ro used to get plenty of attention when in supermarket car parks and the like - my R8 gets very little really, got a thumbs up gesture from a bus driver once and that's about it! smile

Drove to Bruges last weekend and to Amsterdam two weeks before that. The audience was all mine! People really appreciate the "novelty" out there. And the roar in the small streets of the Belgian town made everyone freeze in appreciation.

On the other hand, was leaving a car wash in Ruislip today and had a guy in his late teena and a hoody on, ask what car that was and then... which way I was going. Then asked if I would drop him to the shops down the road!?!?

I once had a guy follow me to a petrol station so he could tell me he loved the car.

More recently I was coming out of Tescos and noticed a husband and wife circling my car, looking in the windows etc. I can only assume they were trying to figure out what it was.
When they saw me coming towards them they subtly walked off to do their shopping.
