Fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose
Discussion
Swapped the spark plugs on my chimaera today. Whilst doing them I noticed the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose wasn't connected. It's fine on the back of the regulator but the other end is waving around. I'm sure it wasn't like that previously but I can't see where it should be hooked up.
Can anyone help?
Can anyone help?
Just getting car back on road after fitting a new cam and a bit of tinkering, found my regulator vacuum pipe dangling down...have always thought it was a vent, so its been like that since I had the car!!
Another thing I noticed that when I turn the ignition and fuel pump starts, (but before I engage the starter), I hear some gurgling in the tank, presumably from the return line. Never noticed it before, but I guess with no fuel being consumed by the injectors its at its highest pressure and so the regulator will be passing back to the return.
May have answered my own question here....
Could it also be that I filled the tank today, when normally its sits around 1/2 full? The return goes back into the tank fairly high on the offside doesn't it?
Probably best to use some of that fuel and get it down to the normal 1/2 full and see if that returns to normal.....suns out!!
Any thoughts?
Pete
