991 GT3 vs 2.7 RS

Just back yesterday from a two day driving trip through Wales. Left Cardiff on Friday morning, up across the Breacon Beacons through to the Groes Inn near Snowdonia (via very circuitous route!)
Started the day with three early 911s (two hot rods/2.7 RS recreations and a 2.7 Carrera) and a 991 GT3. Was very interesting watching the GT3 chase the lead car. On the twisty and bumpy roads he was having to work harder than he had anticipated to keep up!
Owner of the GT3 kindly allowed me to have a go. What a beast. He had to give me a pre-flight briefing on the various knobs and settings. He also had a go in mine. I told him he had to bang the door shut because it didn't close easily!
The 2.7 Carrera and GT3 left us around lunch time so just the two of us carried on for the full trip, driving until it was getting dark on Friday and then Saturday until lunch (before setting off home).
What a trip, Perfect time of year. Weather was great. A little chilly at times but the roads were mostly empty and we had some great, uniterrupted runs.
The GT3 was great but for the roads we were on the early cars were much more fun (IMHO). So much more feedback and at fast but sane pace more enjoyable. Also much easier being so much smaller. Yes a bit more power for overtaking would have been nice at times but then we were not held back for long.
Still amazed that a 40 year old car can be so capable and so much fun to drive.
Owner of the GT3 has the last laugh though as he also has a real 2.7 RS so can choose which to drive.

Fortunately my car isn't a real 2.7 RS otherwise I might have been more precious with it (rather than giving it a good thrashing)
