Hello chaps

Does anyone know which position is open and closed? I've got the workshop manual and searched the internet, but cannot find the answer.

In the image above with the little rod fully extended, is this fully open (ie noiser) or closed?

Cheers

As it works with a vaccum pump, fully extended must be closed and retracted should be open....I guess.

That was my thinking too. Although, I understand people remove the rubber vacuum pipes resulting in the valve staying open all the time. Therefore, would that mean it would fully extended was opened, considering there is no vacuum pulling the rod closed?

Sorry, just re-read the manual. Closed is the noisy position. Therefore, I'm thinking closed is extended like you say.

Thanks, good to know.

Well, disconnected the vacuum tubes, forced the valves closed and am now a hapoy boy! Turns out valves were seized closed.
