hi all...was driving along at 30mph and slowed down to let a car out of a school and got a message that the flappy paddles are now disengaged. I was using them about 5 minutes prior (in London, so 30 or 40 mph roads). Drives fine in D

My battery needs a change as I got a low battery warning two days ago whilst the car was stationary and I was listening to the radio. I don't know if it related?
Any advice?
thanks

It's very related to battery charge. This happens to me quite regularly if I do a lot of short journeys and don't trickle charge the battery.

It does help but if you use your car for lots of short journeys and/or it isn't used for a long period of time then the issue comes back. I replaced my battery and had the error message return twice. Both times fixed by a few hours on trickle charge.

Thanks - however, my car did not have the trickle charger and the only one I have is the one that is connected to the actual battery terminals. I have seen the socket in the boot but haven't worked out how to use that.

I use it for shopping trips mainly (800 miles in the last year) so maybe that is the cause.

So the trickle charger is located beside the battery?

I dont think so. But I couldnt find the charger when I got the car, and then it magically appeared when the battery was changed!

The trickle charger is just a Volvo part and I'm informed that they don't put them in the cars any more. I moaned about this a lo and behold one appeared in my new boot along with an AM indoor cover, an AM umbrella and a new compressor. The leather key pouch is en route foc too. Excellent service from Nick at Wilmslow.

At service time please ensure you remove your compressor if the glue gunk has less than 12 months to run. They have a tendency to change it and charge you for the pleasure. smile

I never joke, 007.......

Actually, they are down the road and if it saves £200, then why not? But was wondering if anyone else has used them or, in fact, if anyone has replaced the battery on their own without any problems with coding
