Seen this about a few times and read that it was quite good in a few of the motoring comics but wasn't sure that I really wanted to part with hard earned for a film I knew little about and that was in French.

Then i noticed it in a sale for £3.99 so I thought I'd have a look.

How much do I wish I'd bought it before!!! Mega film, not just the driving bits which were excelltent but also the film itself was top class entertainment.

What to you lot think?

Also I'm sure I remember that there was a sequel made anyone know for sure and where I can get a copy?

Yep. Lots of fun.

I picked up a box set of Taxi 1&2 from Play.com for £8.99. I believe there is also a Taxi 3.

There is also a Hollywood remake of Taxi 1.

Brilliant films. I refuse to see the Hollywood remake on principle.

Yeah, Taxi is brilliant, Taxi 2 is still good though not as great. I've seen Taxi 3 for sale in france, but alas i can't speak fluent french and it didn't have subtitles.

Cheers,
Rob.

I'm told Taxi 3 isn't a patch on 1 and 2, so don't bother.

The first two, though...SUPERB - the French sense of humour is very under-rated. The scene with ALL the police vehicles near the end of -2 had me in tears by the end of it.

I have both 1 and 2 and I think the opening sequence in 2 is better that 1.

I have purchased 1 and 2 seperately before they brought out the box set, now I want the box set, anyone want 1 & 2 for £7.99

If you have purchased both separately I wouldn't think there was a lot of point in getting the box set - it is nothing special, just one disc per film in a fold-out case.

Hey, I thought I'd get my two-pennies worth in...

I saw the hollywood remake of Taxi - and it was great - especially when she held up the ProCharger blower! But the bit about it being all titanium - a load of 'bull'... from that point on, the movie became hopeless... but it had some good driving moments... the reverse part was 'unreal'.... I wander how much BMW payed for their babies to get used in that movie though.... and the way that cop didnt know what a BMW from a Ford???? oh man, that was a killer - I split myself laughing.... But Giselle, now she's a babe!!!! That fugly Leonardo DiCaprio has her, right, whos going to help me save her from that sack of tree-sap...!!!

A fold out case I thought is was just a carboard cover, now I have to get it.

True, thrashing a rally car is better than the moped thrash.

One is a better film overall though. The first time you see the car transform is still one of my favourite cinema moments.

I've seen half of three in Domodedevo Airport in Moscow in French with Russian subtitles, but never seen an English subtitled version. Anyone know if it is available at all?

The most cursory of searches on Amazon.com shows it is available on Region 1 in French with English subtitles (See here)

I've just watched Taxi, Taxi 2 and the remake of Taxi 1 and I must say the originals are fantastic but the remake is dire!

The inept cop is poor actor, Queen Latifah as a cyclist & then a car nut. Um, nope - she spouts so much crap you wouldn't believe. The "taxi" transformation is pointless as well - the whole "supercharger" / "air intake" system is phony - you can't see the valves opening at all!

Dire piece of pap with the only saving grace been a nice Beemer & Giselle Shame the noisy, loud mouthed, "all american" Queen Latifah is in it and they try and put so many scenes/lines (translations) from the original.
