Coming up to replace tyres on my early 911 hot rod. Currently have Avon CR6ZZ - 185/70/15 and 215/60/15. On twisty roads they are great - lots of grip when warm and very direct steering. Downsides: very stiff sidewalls so harsh, road noise, they don't come with much tread when new and wear out quickly. And they are expensive (will be around £1000 to replace all 4).

I want to keep the same profile as I don't think low-profile looks right. Finding it very hard to source alternatives with those sizes (could perhaps change fronts to 195/65).

Any suggestions?

The difficulty is finding matching fronts and rears

I run Goodyear Eagles and very happy - a quiet and compliant tyre - but don't think they are available in the matching specs any longer

Pirelli do the 6000s in n spec - 215/60s and 195/65s

There's a thread on DDK if you can find it

I have found some Goodyear Eagles but they are H rated for 195/65 and V rated for 215/60. Not sure if this matters.

Probably not 'H' is 130 mph isn't it. You may also find the loading is slightly different, but again it shouldn't matter.
